Grading
Your grade is based on the following simple formula: Points earned / points possible
The class will consist of: labs, collaborative projects, portfolios, homework, and tests. For each collaborative lab and project you will receive two grades; one for your individual effort and one for the group grade which will be determined using a rubric.
For instance, if your group receives an 85/100 for a project, each person will receive this grade as their group grade. The individual grade is determined by dividing up the indivual points each group earnes. In other words, if a group of four received the 85, then their total indivual points possible is the group grade times the number of group members (85 * 4= 340). Each student will be given a percent of the 340 points based on the peer evaluations, effort, collaboration, attendance and work ethic.
